The Rivercats are proud to announce a partnership with Innovate Hockey Development to bring our players an exclusive, season-long Sunday morning development program for both House League and Rep players.
Our mission: help every Rivercat grow their game, build confidence, and develop lifelong hockey skills.
What’s Included
Innovate Hockey provides high-quality, professional instruction through:

- 🥅 Skills Sessions

- 🎯 Positional Sessions (Forwards & Defence)
A Typical Skills Session
Each 60-minute session is fast-paced, fun, and designed to maximize touches and game IQ.
- 15 minutes - Skating mechanics, edge work, balance, control, power & stride lengthening
- 15 minutes - Skating, passing & shooting with constant movement: pivots, crossovers, give-and-go’s, stops & starts, finishing with shooting reps
- 10 minutes - All-skill drills focusing on lateral movement, timing, angling, contact, lane distribution & hockey IQ
- 15-20 minutes - Split groups: Forwards in one end, Defence in the other, working on zone-specific play (D-zone, Neutral Zone, O-zone)
